Craig's Bowl Paintings...Works In Progress!

The Muses set up another still life last Thursday to paint monochromatically.  We used a hand-crafted bowl that was created by Rosie's son, Craig and an assortment of fruit, leaves and a wine bottle.  We had a lot of fun and took the paintings home to finish.  I will post the finished paintings later.

Muses Paint A Still Life Monochromatically

The Muses met today and decided to paint a still life monochromatically - after much arranging and re-arranging elements, we finally came up with a still life that everyone was satisfied with.  Some of us worked with sepia and some with indigo.  These are all Works In Progross, and we will post the final paintings next week.  We had such a good time we decided to paint another one next week.

Patty's Still Life - "Olive Oil and Rosemary"

Patty and Michelle painted this week at Patty's home and set up this beautiful still life.  This is Patty's  painting - approximately 10"x8".  Beautiful!

This is Michelle's version of the same still life - also beautiful!

Muses Paint Fences for The Between Fences Exhibit at the Ross Historical Center

Theresa Designed this little boy, Sam, her grandson, catching butterflies.

Rose designed this fence depicting a dog who couldn't hold it "licker!"
Barb designed this fence with hollyhocks and the bluebird of happiness as a tribute to times past.
Michelle painted this beautiful fence depicting miniature horses which she photographed when in Ireland.
Rosie painted this fence depicting the beauty of wildlife along the fencerows she remembered from her childhood.

All of the fences were put up for sale and sold in a silent auction following the exhibit at the historical center.

Still Life Painting with Painting Knives

Two weeks ago we set up a still life for knife painting with a couple of pears and a handthrown lemonade pitcher my husband and bought in West Virginia 20 years ago.  Three of the muses were missing this day.
